It was pretty gay. Could’ve been a lot gayer though.

Ocean’s Eight has been my comfort movie for the longest time. I adore the strength of the cast, and the dynamics they possess as a whole, not to mention the brilliant cinematography. The humour and the relationships of the characters brings a sense of lightheartedness to the movie, which I personally adore. Overall, it’s a very underappreciated movie in terms of the writing, casting and cinematography, as well as the costume and makeup departments.
Good stuff, this.

I really enjoyed ‘Ocean’s Eight’. It’s a sizeable drop off from the great ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, but I actually – just narrowly – enjoyed it more than ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ and ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’. With this 2018 film, they got a lot right. The pacing, but also the casting.

It’s nice to have Sandra Bullock (Debbie) return just to keep the continuity going, that as well as the fact that she’s very good in this. I rate her as an actress, but sometimes I find her performances irritating – here, the complete opposite, I love how charismatic and confident she plays Debbie. Cate Blanchett (Lou) supports her well, too.

The rest of the cast are strong choices. I enjoyed seeing Rihanna and Awkwafina, along with Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway. James Cordon appears too, he seems to split opinion but I like him.

The plot is good, very watchable. I found myself questioning one moment of the nitty-gritty event, but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it unfold. I also liked the editing around it. The ending isn’t the greatest, but still more than satisfactory.

Sex, drugs and rock & roll. What more could you possibly ask for in your “Fucked-Up-Coming-Of-Age” movies… Cannibalism? No dramas. _Raw_ has got you sorted.

**An extreme desire for blood and flesh!**

Totally unexpected. I had no idea what I’m about to watch. Because usually I do small research of films I watch before the click play. I did not know it was even a French film or a horror. But it was not actually a horror in a sense. Seeing the initial set up, I thought it would be about a freshman medical student. Then things turned out strangely. Like it was decades ago when I was young, I have felt uncomfortable for those intentional film. For this, it felt all real. As the contents, I disliked them. But the film succeeded if that’s what it’s intended to give to its audience.

It lived up to what the title meant. But on the other hand, I thought it was making fun of vegetarians. You usually won’t find many vegetarians in Europe, but this film’s topic was bizarre. Because you know someone who has never consumed meat in his entire life, but then when he begins this new habit, it is like completely going out of control. It’s not just one, but two from the same family. Something was very clear, that one not knowing the differences. Because they were never before used to it.

Justine is all set to join her sister to practice to be a veterinarian. Coming from a pure vegetarian family, she has to go through some of college traditions. From the beginning itself, it did not go well for her. It affected her health and body. A drastic change in a short period of time, forcing her to uncontrollable desire. Then on one accidental situation, it turns even worst. Ultimately, a conflict between the sisters arise. It takes them to unexpected paths and finally how it all ends were revealed with many uneasy events.

I have seen many films like this, but this one was a stand-alone from all of them. I’m not saying it is a masterpiece, but they have got all things right just as they wanted. Obviously this is for grownups, though not all of them can watch without feeling disgust. Some of article, reviews says, people left the cinema hall halfway through. A very challenging film to watch. You might think I’m exaggerating for a simple cinematic performance, but that’s what I really experienced. Only when you give it a try, you might get it.

A bit confusing as the story progressing. Like what kind of universe, it is set in. Because whatever happens around Justine, seems nobody caring. Where were the professors! So many doubts. It’s just what it is. An imaginative perspective, what if kind of situation turned more uglier. But if you analyse it properly, the only issue was the cannibalism. Not that one showing a desire in consuming meat all of sudden. So, I appreciate the writing, direction and performances, but definitely it is not my cup of tea. Probably for most of you as well.

So this is not for all, but selected viewers. Films can be anything, only we have to assert whether we liked it or not. The maker knew what they were doing, the kind of subject they have undertaken for their film. Often a film like this hits the screen, and makes some noise among the film critics and film goers. I don’t know on what merit one should decide to watch it. Because it is not for entertainment, nor an art, nor a message film. But I still think it is worth a watch. Just be aware of what you are going to watch.

I have wanted to see this movie for a while, and it did not disappoint. Beautifully shot. Not for the timid. My wife had a hard time with a couple of scenes.
Granted, it is a bit of a “gross for gross sake”, but I loved every minute of it.

Thought this movie was pretty good when I wasn’t expecting too much from the bad ratings and reviews I’d seen. I was pleasantly surprised at the storyline, and the visuals and battle scenes were pretty epic. Overall I would say this is worth a watch but don’t expect too much from the film. The original is better but this is a worthy follow up.
This is one of these movies which will always have its detractors because it is not historically correct. There are certain movies in which you expect a certain amount of historical accuracy and there are certain movies where you do not. This is one of the latter. You must be out of your mind if you ever expected any great deal of historical accuracy from this movie (or any Hollywood production nowadays for that matter). Therefore it pains me to see the reviews that slams this movie with a one-star rating and moans about how it is screwing with the (their) history. I would certainly not call this a great movie but, as a movie, it is far from the one-star range.

The movie is watchable, it is even somewhat enjoyable to watch but it is not really a great and epic movie. There are lots of action which is one of the good parts. Some of the scenery, especially the naval ones, are quite magnificent even though they are somewhat overdone in the usual Hollywood way. The bow waves make these heavy, wooden, oar-powered ships look like they are speeding ahead at 30 knots for instance.

The action is of the rather gory and blood splattering type. Given all the slow motion scenes with copious amounts of blood slowly floating in the air I would assume this was more out of intention than out of ignorance although the ease by which these ancient swords chopped through bones and necks seemed rather unbelievable. I do not mind blood and gore in my movies but I have to say that the blood and gore in this movie seemed to have taken precedence over the rest of the creative process.

The movie simply failed to inspire the awe that one would expect an epic movie of this type would do. Someone said that the movie played out a lot like a video game and to some extent that is true. I never really felt much for any of the characters when watching the movie. I found myself just waiting for the next action scene. The enjoyable part of this movie is really the action, the scenery and the effects, not the story or the characters.

The movie is watchable, even enjoyable depending on your expectations but far from great.
Did they really have to do a second movie?

More of the same but with lack of innovation and talent. The story is predictable and unconnected, the same than the battles.

Stapleton’s character doesn’t have the same power in screen than 300’s Butler’s.

Probably, the only thing to save is Eva Green although I think she is walking a path in which she is not gaining points to perform in better future movies.
Turgid sequel with a towering performance by Eva Green at its center.

Make no mistake, she dominates this movie and lays scorched earth wherever she goes. The male cast members flex and grimace with all they’ve got but when Green is on screen she is all you look at.

It’s definitely one of the best performances in a bad movie I can recall.

Sometimes, people ask me if I feel less motivated to write about a movie I didn’t like or even simply hated. Not even close. Matter of fact, it might be the exact opposite. The only films which I find hard to write a review on are those who don’t have a single aspect that is either outstanding or horrible. Those who are so “in the middle” that you forget about them less than 24h after you’ve seen it. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged could very well be this type of flick, but its ludicrous logical issues story-wise are impossible to ignore. Even the title is just a marketing scheme to attract people who liked the 2017’s original since it is entirely unrelated to it (the water depth at which the characters are is never addressed).

This is one of the worst movies of the year. It still doesn’t beat Serenity, but it made me rethink about the latter’s grade because I find it so incredibly difficult to acknowledge one single good thing about this terrible sequel. Had I scored Matthew McConaughey’s film an F, this one would probably belong there as well. However, in the same way that a film without flaws isn’t necessarily an A+, a movie with no redeeming quality isn’t instantly an F. If there’s one compliment I can give Uncaged is that there are two or three short sequences where a jump scare is effective, or the suspenseful vibe was accomplished … Nevertheless, these are still just a couple of minutes in an almost 90-min runtime.

The characters have no development whatsoever. The story follows the most pathetic path possible. The sharks (which are the reason people actually went to the theater) are not as visually realistic as in the original, reaching a point where the CGI was pretty awful. A fish screams … I mean, really?! Who the hell supervised this mess? Characters talk underwater seamlessly with no explanation on how they are effectively talking. I could sit here and write dozens of questions that defy the film’s logic, but I’ll stop here. Not because I don’t want to (if this wasn’t a spoiler-free review, I’d go crazy), but due to the fact that the main issue with the movie isn’t the atrociously illogical plot points, but the lack of entertainment.

Fast and Furious, Pirates of the Caribbean, Transformers … All of these are (financially) successful franchises. Audiences all over the world fill theaters and enjoy these series for what they are: popcorn entertainment. No one goes for the complex plots or layered characters. People go for the action, the explosions, the epic scores, the visual effects, and all of that stuff. Uncaged doesn’t have any of that to compensate its other problems. One or two scenes here and there aren’t enough to warrant the price of admission. Even the acting is mediocre.

All in all, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged is nothing more than a silly attempt at the start of a new franchise. Don’t be fooled by its title since it has nothing to do with the original flick. It doesn’t try to introduce compelling characters, the shark sequences fall flat for the most part, and the screenplay is filled with laughable plot points. There’s no sense of logic. For an 89-minute runtime, it astounds me how it can’t be slightly entertaining, to say the least. Undoubtedly, one of the worst films of the year. Skip it, so they don’t have enough money to try and do a third one. Who knows?! Maybe they’ll bet on original, smaller flicks from genuinely talented filmmakers who want to work hard and deliver a good movie.

‘47 Metres Down: Uncaged’ doesn’t have the inventiveness of ‘The Shallows’, the intensity and drive of ‘Crawl’, the fun of ‘The Meg’ or the gore of ‘Piranha 3D’ but, for a few fleeting moments, it does feel vaguely like an underwater version of ‘The Descent’. If only the film would have let the characters shut the fuck up a little more and let me enjoy those aspects.

Has a few moments going for it, but this is pretty much paint-by-numbers survival-thriller with some pretty bad acting (or at least poor dialogue). The first movie wasn’t very good either, but at least the characters in that one didn’t get into their predicament due to their stupidity like they had here (seriously all of this got started because one of the girls got startled by a fish and knocked into a pillar).

Only notable thing about this cast is two of them are children of a famous parent actor (Jamie Foxx/Corinne Foxx, Sylvester Stallone/Sistine Stallone).

Not terrible and passably watchable, but kind of feels dated even though the obsession with sharks was only a few years back. **2.0/5**
Rare is the shark movie that actually tries, and for that, _47 Meters Down: Uncaged_ deserves ample credit. The shark effect quality varies wildly, but when it’s good, it’s really good (shame one of the not good times was the first time you see one). About as much originality as you can get out of this genre, but even with all that said, _Uncaged_ still can’t manage to cross that threshold into “good”. It fails to suspend disbelief, doesn’t have characters you can care about, and isn’t very well acted. It rises above a lot of modern-day shark movies, but it doesn’t rise above many movies in a more general sense.

Less scares than the first one but still a good popcorn entertainer with the trademark emotional element (two step sisters here) and if you don’t think about the details too much. 90 minutes of laid-back entertaining material to watch with your family and learn again why exploring abandoned lakes and underwater caves isn’t a safe thing to do. TN.
Right, if Great White sharks have their equivalent of Equity, I’d be formulating a law suit against the producers of this nonsense for gross misrepresentation. For the most part, despite having this rather ripe collection of noisy young divers on their plates, the so-called monsters of the sea seem quite incapable of polishing them off. Initially they are isolated in the ruins of an underwater temple, then a beautiful lagoon that is nigh on impossible for them to escape from, then finally the open sea where a visiting tourist boat is pounding the blue waters with shark-tempting chum – and yet, yes – you’ve guessed… There is no point singling out any of the acting talent here, luckily they wear scuba-masks most of the time so the performances really only require a moderate ability to win (and, of course, to scream). There is some fine underwater photography, but the rest of this is really formulaic and so incredibly far-fetched as to be just plain daft and not in the least scary.
