i got the pleasure of getting a sneak peek of this movie its pretty great i laughed out loud and really had feelings for the characters in this movie its a good choice for older kids i dont think however its a good idea for younger kids its more dark the villans more frightening then before the movie is good very good though

I feel **veeeeery** much that we’ve done this dance before now. I definitely didn’t hate _The Hidden World_, the animation’s pretty speccy, Toothless is eternally adorable, some of the creature design is pretty cool (especially the new bad guy’s beasties) and I appreciate ending a franchise on your own terms. But to me, this is still definitely the low point of the trilogy. Not crap, for sure, but hit on a lot of things I genuinely don’t care for.

The new villain added for another whole level of spice to the franchise. The development of the characters we followed since the first movie has nicely culminated in this third installment. I hope they’d continue to make a follow-up show/series.
THE DRAGONS OF BERK ARE BACK WITH A NEW MOVIE! I’ve been following the TV series while waiting for this one and it did not disappoint. Also, Hiccup did well on puberty.
I loved the upgraded armors of the riders of Berk plus, the thrill of the scenes were as dauntless as ever. Exactly what I loved about this franchise: costume design–check, risky adventures in 3D–check, adorable dragons–CHECK!
The relationships of the dragons and their riders also grew and it was both heartwarming and awe-mazing to watch that development on screen. I look forward to the next movie the team that gave us The Hidden World would come up with.
It might not have brought the same hype as the first two movies did for me but it made up with all those cool costume upgrades. The theme of friendship and family was still there and that made it a must-watch in my book.
I still can’t help but see Stitch every time I look at Toothless, Chris Sanders really did right by both characters. I’d say Toothless’ dance was the highlight of this movie along with the epic fight scenes and the fire-saber sword. Overall, I’d give it two thumbs up!
Berk is the people, not the place. This last movie closes in the franchise nice and good that it’ll have you leaving the movie house with a satisfied disposition.
The first two movies felt like learning to ride and fly with a newfound friend while searching for the self. This third movie felt like doing a smooth landing after impressing with a spark blast and several loops. Great movie!
Toothless being jack-clueless on impressing a girl is too relatable. However, on a more serious note, the animation upped a notch. The fire and blast effects were gorgeous and eye-catching.
This franchise is one of DreamWorks’ best aces to boot. Although the third movie did not excite as much as the first two, it still makes for a good franchise-closure. Kudos to the entire team behind HTTYD!

FIERY! Toothless’ newfound ability was awesome. It gave justice to the “Night Fury” classification.
It was wonderful to see Hiccup as the one who was helping Toothless. A friendship that was not selfish, but rather, giving.
That was a tough decision for the main character to do! But no matter how hard it was to let go, it was the right choice indeed. Freedom is also love.

> An unexpected and thoroughly entertained retro comedy!

It all began from this year’s Oscars, I saw this pair for the first time and I knew its their film promotion strategy. So I went to look for the full details and I thought I’ll end up as another silly comedy like ‘Daddy’s Home’. That’s why I did not bother to check it out its teaser and trailer, but now I feel terrible for my crappy judgement. Because this was an awesome movie, definitely not just in the comedy category, but overall one of the best films of the year and it should be in everybody’s top ten or twenty and nothing less.

It is a retro type film that takes place in the late 70s, LA. Where two private investigators unlikely come together to probe a mysteriously reappeared porn star from the dead as what her aunt says. But later that connects with another high profile missing girl case and so with all the leads, these two goes the length risking their lives to solve it. The remaining story reveals whether they succeed or end up as the losers.

It was from the director of ‘Iron Man 3’ who wrote it keeping in mind as a television series, but later turned into this beautiful comedy. The first thing is I loved the Ryan and Russell’s performances. They totally nailed it, especially Ryan Gosling in many comedy scenes. I think I laughed a lot and better after a long time. That’s a surprise, you know, I did not think they can do comedies, but they’re beyond all the praising words.

It’s not just two of them, there is a mini ‘Nancy Drew Reporter’ kind of character. A teen girl joins them in the investigation and her part as well had a great impact on the narration. You would think you can predict the story, but it is a well written screenplay with many twists. Everybody did their job so well, even the two hours did not look too long, but went very quick. The cast, crew, production, all must return for a sequel and I hope it will happen very soon. A must see film, but for the grown ups only.

I’ve never been a Ryan Gosling fan. No movie ever before has come as close to turning me around in that than _The Nice Guys_.

Director Shane Black is in top form with broad appeal, terrific performances, and honestly more humour than anything I’ve seen in years.

The Nice Guys is directed by Shane Black and Black co-writes the screenplay with Anthony Bagarozzi. It stars Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling and Angourie Rice. Music is by John Ottman and David Buckley and cinematography by Philippe Rousselot.

1977 Los Angeles and a private detective and a muscle for hire enforcer wind up on the same case looking for a missing girl. Can opposites really attract? More importantly, can they survive not just the perils of a case that gets murkier the longer it goes on? But also each other?

I don’t care if Colonel Mustard did it in the study with a candlestick. I just wanna know who he did it with and get the pictures.

How wonderful to have had Shane Black back in his comfort zone and producing such a joyful buddy buddy neo-noir of considerable substance. It was eleven years since the superb Kiss Kiss Bang Bang had reminded us that Black had few peers when it came to blending high action macho twosomes who are also armed with sharp tongues to match, this was after all the guy who also penned Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout. The idea for The Nice Guys had sat in gestation for a number of years, finally it was unleashed to reward fans of his work and for those in sync with the style of film making he homages.

Much like his other buddy scriptings, we are in the company of two mismatched guys. Gosling’s ex-cop Holland March is a bit goofy, afraid of the sight of blood and morally bankrupt. Crowe’s muscle for hire Jackson Healy beats people up for money, but he’s a stand-up guy, likes his pet fish, even has a hero streak. What binds them together is troubled family baggage, that they are both men in search of a better world, to be better men themselves, and thus Black – to give them a chance of life improvement – pitches them into the seamy underbelly of the L.A. pornography industry – with some corruption elsewhere thrown into the equation.

As a coupling March and Healy prove to be a riot. Crowe is menacing and funny with it, Gosling is affably flaky but charm personified, and thankfully both men have a knack for visual comedy (see Gosling’s Lou Costello homage and Crowe’s reaction to a henchman’s act of fish murder). Crucially both actors can deliver killer lines, which is an absolute must for a Shane Black inspired production, for here there is never any let up, zingers are unbound. Then there is Rice (superb and actually the third lead in the play) as March’s 13 year old daughter, she’s got youthful zest and a killer matter of fact skill in reacting smartly to the two men currently dominating her life.

The L.A. of the 70s is expertly designed, all blink blink blinkity blink neon lighting, side-burns and disco music, dubious fashions and protest groups protesting about the most mundane of things. Then you got the pornography angle, the 70s a hot-bed (no pun intended) for the sex sells profiteers, the perfect setting for Black to trawl through it all in noir clobber. As a noir piece it has it all, femme fatales, thugs, conspiracies, voice overs and an array of colourfully odd characters (excitable and troubling henchmen, a porno Pinocchio, a young lad willing to flash the contents of his underpants for cash!). And of course there’s mysteries to be solved and rocks to be upturned, all of which is played out in a whirl of stylish violence, situational comedy and fluid camera work.

Black kind of wants it all, to stay cool whilst having wry observations on the Americana of the era, and he enjoys going close to the knuckle when he can, which to some (not me) will come off as a shock value humour tactic just to ruffle feathers. It’s also a minor itch that he sort of snatches from his previous works in search of reassurance – note for instance the similarities between the opening to Lethal Weapon and here with The Nice Guys. But itches be damned, so much fun and hidden dramatic depth on show here, a real treasure that makes you wish Black would stroll down neo-noir lane a bit more often. Don’t believe me? Then may Richard Nixon come after you the next time you go for a swim in the pool! 9/10

Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker and, specially, Jake Gyllenhaal show us how good of an actors they are. Also, we discover the great performance by Oona Laurence but that’s the(one and only) big strength of the movie; its cast.

The story is the one told a thousand times without many new details that would make it any different. The directing is correct but the story is just too well known.
I can handle the rules, man, I’ll handle the rules.

Ultimately this is just another one of those sports movies about someone who went off the rails due to tragedy, but came back to make the audience cheer. There is absolutely nothing new here, every cliché is adhered to, every chance to tug the heart strings is prominent, while the finale is as obvious as any one who watches sports movies will expect. But these things don’t make it a bad film.

It’s very well mounted by the makers, expertly performed by the principal actors, and, well, there’s often a time when you need a rousing pick-me-up movie. The camera work and choreography is high grade, while director Antoine Fuqua is able to keep a realistic feel to the drama throughout. It is what it is, a very well made boxing movie, it’s just not champion in story, just merely a contender. 7/10
As far as boxing sport movies goes Southpaw isn’t a film to remember, but the whole aspect of a criminal being made a successful man because of his wife/daughter, people in his life the MC deemed to fight for, added that one drama notch to get you all goose bumped.

Regardless, as far as boxing goes, these fights weren’t doing it for me as a boxing sport fanatic and practitioner myself. They were unrealistic to a certain extend.

I still can’t believe I’m about to write a review for The New Mutants… The last X-Men movie before they’re introduced into the MCU became one of the most delayed films ever, but it finally got released this week. Shot in 2017 with an original release date of April 2018, Josh Boone had reshoots planned, which postponed the movie for the first time. Disney began negotiations to merge with 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios), keeping the film in a limbo state. A global pandemic emerged, pushing the movie even further. Final outcome: a worldwide limited release three years after finishing shooting, and without any reshoots. So, obviously, my expectations were pretty low…

Surprise, surprise, The New Mutants isn’t a horrible mess, it’s… fine! I feel really sorry that so many people worked on this film and had to wait so long to see it being released to the world. I love how it’s far from being just another generic, formulaic superhero flick. Sure, it has tons of cliches, and it does still feel like an X-Men movie at times, but I’ll get there. I genuinely appreciate that Boone and Knate Lee wrote a narrative packed with significant and detailed character development, including a compelling romantic arc. Every young mutant gets their own story explained front-center. Each time the film dives into a character’s past, it never feels like an irrelevant subplot. It all serves a purpose.

The technical crew had a very low budget to work with compared to other movies in the genre, so I must praise them for transforming a small, one-location film into something surprisingly entertaining. The visual effects definitely don’t have that quality that viewers are used to seeing now, but they’re reasonably okay for the most part. The horror atmosphere is definitely present, but it feels like the movie could have benefited from a more assertive, bolder approach to these nightmarish sequences. The best aspect of the whole film is related to the indisputably talented cast, with just one exception…

From Anya-Taylor Joy’s rebel behavior to Charlie Heaton’s experienced performance, passing through Maisie Williams’ emotional display and Henry Zaga’s charming one-liners, every one of these actors proves why they were cast in such a well-known franchise. Despite the ridiculously flawed accents, all share great chemistry between each other, including debutant Blu Hunt. However, the latter fails to be a compelling protagonist clearly due to her inexperience. I don’t want to be too harsh on her because I did see some great moments when she shared the screen with her colleagues. However, I do need to state that every scene where she acts alone or against a green screen reaches cringe-worthy levels of bad acting.

Boone and/or the casting crew must also take responsibility for choosing her as the main character, but honestly, she’s not even my main issue. That has to do with her own character. While she gets the same focus as her fellow mutants when it comes to her backstory, she never really has to deal with her powers’ consequences. Some mutants hurt or killed people, and they’re unquestionably damaged because of it. Dani doesn’t have a single moment where she feels sorry for whatever happened in her past or where she’s confronted with it. It’s quite hard to connect with a protagonist when both the character and the actress playing her lack that captivating personality.

Finally, Alice Braga, as the doctor, is probably the most formulaic component of the movie. From the first conversation she has with the mutants, any viewer can guess where the story is going. Braga is good as Dr. Cecilia Reyes, but coincidentally or not, her character is the only one whose backstory wasn’t remotely explored. Reyes’ motivations and what lies beyond the hospital raise intriguing questions that, unfortunately, never get answered. Maybe the supposed reshoots could have solved some of these issues, perhaps they could have added some more. I don’t know for sure, but what I do know is that The New Mutants is far from being an awful mess.

All in all, Josh Boone and Knate Lee deliver a reasonably entertaining screenplay out of the generic zone of the superhero genre, packed with detailed character development and decent horror sequences, especially having in mind the low budget. The New Mutants features a marvelous cast, where everyone shares tremendous chemistry with each other. All actors deliver great performances, except for the debutant Blu Hunt who unfortunately lets her inexperience overcome her evident potential. Contrasting with the overall character treatment, Dani Moonstar fails to be a compelling protagonist since she’s barely shown having to deal with the emotional consequences of her powers like every other mutant does. Despite the refreshing take on the overall story, there are still a few cliches and formulaic components throughout the film, especially related to the hospital. Overall, it’s surprisingly okay considering the numerous production issues, so I definitely recommend it at least just to say goodbye to the last X-Men installment pre-MCU.

Just like ‘Dark Phoenix’, Fox’s greatest loss is Disney’s greatest gain: even as ‘The New Mutants’ opened, the discussion was already focused on how Disney’s MCU is bound to resuscitate ‘X-Men’. That’s a shame because Josh Boone’s relic from a defunct franchise, unceremoniously dumped in cinemas in the middle of pandemic, was a step in a potentially interesting new direction.

The problem with The New Mutants is that it fails in so many different areas that’s its difficult to pin point why it’s such a bad movie. If you’re a X-Man fan you’ll be disappointed by the main characters mutations, if you’re a thriller fan you’ll be disappointed by the villain.

**When to watch:** The only scenario I would recommend you watch this movie is if you are die hard fan of one of the actors (Even still you might be disappointed)

**How to fix this movie:**

1. Replace the villain, stop trying to make this a weird horror crossover and focus on what made X-Man good to begin with. A PROPER VILLAIN.
2. Far to much focus on the poorly written backstory for each main character.
3. Make the Mutations better! The super powers should make the audience want to be them.
4. Cut the cheesy dialogue and pick a clear genre, this is a toss up between, Sci-Fi, Action, Horror, Romance, Cheesy B Level Movie.
As both a horror and X-men fan, I was looking forward to this mashup since the first trailer dropped. Even recently with mostly bad reviews and press, I wanted to see it for myself.

And … it pretty much sucked. That doesn’t bode well for future work from Josh “The Fault in my Stars” Boone (e.g. “The Stand” mini-series.

We pretty much know the gist from the trailers. Young mutants are haunted/harassed by something in a mental hospital.

The best parts are pulled from the X-men series in which mutants first find out their powers, typically represented effectively on screen. Most times these scenes are fun, but the special effects are a mixed bag, jumping back and forth from decent to cheesy.

Most of the ensemble cast are relatively new up-and-coming stars such as Maise Williams (“Game of Thrones”), Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Witch/Queen’s Gambit”), and Charlie Heaton (“Stranger Things”) but the acting is mediocre, and worst of all, they butcher whatever accent they are supposed to have (Irish, Russian[?], and U.S. southern respectively).

And the story — disappointing to say the least.

If you drop your expectations to a bad 90 minute “Buffy the Vampire” episode, then maybe you’ll find something to like.
Surprisingly great watch, will likely watch again, and do recommend.

My expectations of this one were rock bottom: I honestly didn’t think much of the trailer. I thought they were ruining “The New Warriors”, my mistake, and I didn’t realize they gender bent a character I was already familiar with. (Moonstar is basically another guy character from “The Initiative” in Marvel Comcs)

What is really interesting, and NEVER ADDRESSED is what the facility is, who runs it, and what the point is. There just aren’t answers to be had so simply during an uprising. Honestly worst part of the movie, but unless you’re paying too much attention, you probably won’t even notice.

The characters are deceptively interesting, to the point where I was actually surprised at certain points, but they are what makes the movie. The discovery of the characters, they’re evolution as a team, and their personal struggles are what makes the movie great.

It is also FILLED with action after a certain point, beautifully rendered and weighted combat with something somewhat meaningful behind it.

If you’re into super powered action on any level, then give this a watch.

Excellent movie for Legos 😉 . Great for the whole family as well as adults. I had quite a few chuckles from this film and enjoyed it the whole way. Animation was great and the movie had a fairly decent plot as well. I give it 2 thumbs up, I could see myself watching this a second or third time with the familiy.
If you’re Lego you will love this movie.

I found myself enjoying thriller, heavily influenced by The Most Dangerous Game, among others. While the story had its pitfalls, the cinematography and acting were solid.
_**Murder, vengeance and justice in the wilderness of the northern Great Lakes region**_

The alcoholic owner of a wildlife sanctuary (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and the new Sheriff of a northern Minnesota county (Annabelle Wallis) discover evidence of someone possibly hunting girls. The former craves vengeance and the latter wants justice while questioning her troubled little brother’s involvement (Hero Fiennes). Zahn McClarnon, Melanie Scrofano and Shaun Smyth are also on hand.

“The Silencing” (2020) is a wilderness crime mystery/thriller along the lines of “The Vanished” (2020), but with elements of “Kiss the Girls” (1997). Some armchair critics are rash to point out supposed flaws, but practically everything is logically explained with a little imagination. Sure, there are movie-isms, like in the last acts of “A Simple Plan” (1998) and “The Virtuoso”
(2021), but that’s par for the course in cinema, particularly this genre.

Nikolaj makes for a quality masculine protagonist and it’s always a pleasure to see Annabelle Wallis. There’s a surprise or two along with the formula. The fact that the melancholic story keeps you guessing is a plus, not to mention the picturesque cinematography.

The movie runs 1 hour, 33 minutes, and was shot in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, which is about an hour’s drive due west of North Bay.
