Ghostland 2018 Online Subtitrat in Romana

Ghostland Online Subtitrat in Romana – [1080p]

Ghostland

generic : Ghostland

gen : Horror, Mystery, Thriller

Ghostland looks good but spins its wheels a lot narratively, especially in the second half, when it collapses into a pile of cliches from which it never emerges. If only the storytellers had cared about substance as much as style … It’ll pass the time but you can easily find something better to consume.
At first glance this film comes off as an extremely predictable horror flick, so the twist was clever seeing as I didn’t expect it until moments before it occurred but at that point… the film really started to fall flat for me. It peaked way too early and once we get passed the peak it started to come to a lull. The issue was that the movie seemed to be creating conflict not out of circumstance but out of boredom. The purpose of the protagonists got lost quickly.

Overall the film was a big let down for me. Seeing as this is from the director of MARTYRS, a horror gore masterpiece, my hopes were high for this film so I was definitely disappointed. The most redeeming quality of this film is the jump scares! Those were executed perfectly.

Sidenote: the antagonist character seemed to be casted to be a transphobic jab seeing as everyone referred to this person who was dressed like a woman as a “fucking man”, in a devisive way. Kinda tasteless.

Liberal snooty types lashing out at conservative cronies and their right-wing leanings should have made for some enjoyably edgy satire, but ‘The Hunt’ is merely a by-the-numbers comedy-horror-suspense thriller that has a few punchy moments. But, if production company Blumhouse wants to remake a bunch of 90s Jean-Claude Van Damme action movies with Betty Gilpin in the lead role, I think I’d be down with that. I’d watch them, not in the theatres obviously, but late at night after a few beers.

In case you don’t know, I’m from Portugal. Why does this matter? Well, The Hunt was delayed after a massive shooting in the USA, and since the movies’ themes are extremely sensitive, the producers decided to postpone the film. At the time, I felt frustrated that, once again, movies have to suffer from real-life situations. Going to the theater is supposed to be an “out of this world” experience. The audience is transported into a fictional place where real-world problems can be forgotten for a couple of hours. So, I never handled these constant controversies surrounding films very well…

With that said, I believe The Hunt not only benefited from that delay, but its satirical story has even more impact now. There’s no way around this. Craig Zobel’s movie is meant to be one of the most divisive films of the last few years. I know it’s a pretty basic analogy, but it’s just like a dark humor standup show. If you don’t have any issues with jokes about topics like racism, stereotypes, immigration, refugees, religion, politics, and every sensitive theme that your mind can imagine, then you’ll find The Hunt a brilliant allegory of society’s most extreme people. If you do have problems with this type of comedy, then stay away from this movie because Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse go all out!

When I write that every remotely sensitive taboo subject or activity is unrestrainedly addressed, I mean EVERY SINGLE theme. This is a narrative completely packed with extreme, over-the-top cliches and stereotypes of both right and left political sides. At first glance, The Hunters feel like the “bad guys”, in the sense that they’re hunting innocent people for pure pleasure. Once the audience understands the reasons behind the selection of the people being hunted, one small but tremendously effective thought enters everyone’s mind: “you know what… the world would actually be a better place without this kind of people”.

Suddenly, not a single character is worth caring about. To clarify, I don’t mean “caring about” in the common, emotional way. No character is written with the purpose of making the audience worry about it. In fact, almost every character (maybe except Betty Gilpin’s) is a despicable human being. Their view of the world is clouded by ideologically outdated mentalities. I love how the screenwriters use each character to represent a particular type of … extreme personality, let’s call it that. One of the best compliments I can give the film is that it didn’t pick a side. Everyone gets blasted with jokes.

It’s a dark yet hilarious satire of today’s society with a special focus on the close-minded people that go online to try and spread their conspiracy theories and immoral beliefs. Everything that I just wrote so far resembles the movie’s impact on the viewer: either you’re okay with this type of screenplay and you’ll be incredibly entertained; or you’ll get extremely triggered by all this. It’s one of those films that will end up on a bunch of “Worst Movies of 2020” lists simply due to its narrative’s nature.

However, the story isn’t the only aspect that can make people give up on watching this movie. The actual hunt is as over-the-top as everything else. There’s blood everywhere, ridiculously disgusting deaths, and absolutely no limits whatsoever in killing people in the most insanely entertaining way possible. Action-wise, The Hunt is better filmed than a lot of blockbusters. Beautiful wide shots when something (or someone) explodes, exceptional (and hilariously long) choreography for the “final fight”, and excellent editing overall. It’s genuinely a well-made, well-produced, and well-filmed movie. The score is also pretty cool.

Obviously, it’s one of those films that’s easy to pinpoint flaws. Every single paragraph that I wrote above can be interpreted as some of the worst aspects of the entire movie, depending on each person’s perspective. In my opinion, I think the ending would have benefited from a more serious tone, but at the same time, it would probably clash with the widespread satirical one, so it’s an inevitably difficult ending to completely get right. The cast is a bit hit-and-miss when it comes to each actor’s performance (some are very bland), but Betty Gilpin delivers an outstanding display and seamlessly carries the whole film. Finally, there’s a small part of the movie that involves military characters who don’t belong to either side of The Hunt, and that portion didn’t really work for me.

All in all, The Hunt is a brilliantly dark satire on today’s political views of the world. It’s meant to be one of the most divisive films of the last few years, and it undoubtedly succeeds in its mission. Just like dark humor, either you’re okay with it, or you’re not. If you can’t take a joke about the most extremely sensitive taboo themes (and I mean ALL of them), then stay away from this movie or you’ll be triggered for a whole week. However, if you can see the fun side of this type of comedy, The Hunt is the most entertaining, witty, hilarious, bloody, over-the-top action thriller you’ll see for a long time. Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse go all out, and they don’t forget to approach a single topic. It’s a well-made film all-around: well-written, well-produced, and well-filmed. A few minor issues regarding its ending and a small subplot don’t diminish Craig Zobel’s exceptionally captivating concept and Betty Gilpin’s compelling performance. I definitely recommend it depending on how much you enjoy dark humor.

PS: everyone knows the tale about the rabbit and the turtle, right? How the rabbit races the turtle, and all that? Well, The Hunt’s version of that story just became my all-time favorite.

Gaining its momentum back in mid 2019, The Hunt stirred up quite a bit of controversy prior to its initial release, branding it too brutal for release due to the mass shootings in Ohio, Texas last summer. This Blumhouse picture was later rescheduled, and was at one point never to see the light of day, which would have been a crushing blow knowing how relevant this actually turned out to be. Luckily for us, Blumhouse soon caught on and realised movies like The Hunt are exactly what our cruel audience’s need right now, something with a sharp satirical bite with a gut-punching narrative reflective of modern society. Welcome to my favourite horror movie of the past few years.

Imagine a Twitter thread was made into a movie, this is The Hunt. What we have here is a film that functions on the confliction that exists in the real-world between liberals and conservatives, as they take chunks out of each other when discussing politics online, spilling blood on each side as opinions and views are torn to shit by the opposing party. What is depicted is literal death and carnage, which is representative of how the different identities and political views that are one person’s beliefs, but another’s infuriating joke.
Image result for the hunt 2020 film
The beauty here (which is addressed as a massive concern to most reviewers) is the lack of depth to these characters within The Hunt, and to their lifestyle choices and political standpoints. What works best is that it never takes a stance when mocking both sides of the political spectrum, and allows us as an audience to identify which whatever our political views lead us to, even if one side is draped in murderous overtones. I admire how we are left to decide where we would stand, and if what is happening is something we can sympathise with. To most, what I’m saying sounds ridiculous, but this lack of depth to these characters is very much reflective on the current state of our social media, having people who we know nothing about spreading their views which are toxic to half and relatable to others.

It’s that online façade that is at play here, as we witness comments and statements daily that tear down others, ruin people’s professional statuses or simply to spread offensive and insensitive comments online to troll others. This is the world we live in, and the characters in The Hunt exist within our real world. The characters within this may not be fleshed out, but to the online profiles with nothing but a name, a picture and a flurry of controversial tweets neither are they, and that certainly looks like modern day humanity to me.

Much of The Hunt’s satirical sting comes from its reliance on our current climate and political correctness, which leans on its accurate depiction of society to get its laughs in when it can. It’s understandable that this particular sense of humour might to a little too one-note for some, but it firmly has its own tongue planted in its cheek when openly mocking our current way of thinking, juxtaposing these characters with opposing mind-sets to create a genuinely clever and on-the-nose depiction on humanity’s contemporary views. Aside from the intelligent links to modern society, it’s also really enjoyable and highly entertaining when utilised to its full potential. One could be offended by some of the humour here, but when the film itself jokes on our own generation of snowflakes, it begs the question if The Hunt is pointing the finger at you, and calling you out for being said snowflake. It all really works for me on a sharply pungent level, one that had me tickled pink until the final credits. The Hunt ultimately holds up a darkly comedic mirror up to the political divisions in a way that hasn’t been explored to this stature.

The action here is outstanding, with the violence being the appropriate level of over the top to match its exuberant premise. Betty Giplin is undeniably outstanding as she delivers a powerhouse of a performance in her portrayal of Crystal, a tough as nails heroine who easily establishes herself in the ranks next to such genre greats as Erin from You’re Next and Alien’s Ripley. Her level of badass is contagiously ferocious, making every scene she’s in an absolute blast to witness. Each fight scene is crafted brilliantly, looking seamlessly effortless with its high-energy intensity, most notably when we reach our final act in which our Million Dollar Baby Hillary Swank comes head-to-head with Giplin, which can only be described as one of the most entertaining fight scenes in recent horror memory.

Nothing is ever fully dripping in suspense, but you soon realise it doesn’t need to be when you’re watching enigmatic fight scenes that are as vicious as they are diverting. The film also works its best when it plays at its most unexpected, knocking familiar faces off like Drew Barrymore in Scream level of unexpected in ways so gleefully gory it will have you laughing with sheer shock. The Hunt may split audiences right down the middle, but there is one thing that is universal, and that’s that Betty Giplin’s Crystal is already this decades best Final Girl.

VERDICT
Proving to be one of the strongest contemporary social and political horror movies in recent memory, The Hunt is a lean, mean, fighting machine that is as sharply satirical as it is viciously violent. Make room for Betty Giplin, our new final girl is in town.

★★★★★
Irony of ironies that this movie’s release got pulled due to Trump’s shitfit despite never having seen it, when a not insubstantial part of _The Hunt_ is about the left’s propensity for sparking outrage without having the whole story. The reality is, the nothing _The Hunt_ has to say is worth being outraged over. Betty Gilpin’s great in it, because of course she is, intermittently there some pretty fun violence, and only **most** of the dialogue is incredibly awkward, but if you want any sort of consumable message, or witty repartee, don’t be fooled by people on any end of any spectrum, saying that’s something you can find here.

_Final rating:★★½ – Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._
It was… fine. Nothing really to write home about, but some decent kills and gore, plus true subverting expectations with the cast of characters killed off early on. Kind of peters out towards the end but overall it’s worth a rental but one could wait until it’s available for free as part of a streaming service. **3.5/5**
I knew this film was going to be something different but I didn’t read anything about the film before I started watching it. And this is my absolute recommendation to anybody who is thinking of watching this film. Don’t read anything about it. Just watch it. It is different, obscure, unusual, political, weird and overall awesome!

Would I watch it again? Yes! Would I make my friends watch it? Absolutely!
Fantastic watch, will watch again, and do recommend.

This is one of the best, if weirdly refreshing movies I’ve seen in quite some time. I’m a sucker for a good survival movie, and this is an “elites hunt people for sport” trope mixed with a good mystery plot if there ever was one. The story structure alone is worth the watch as it essentially runs 3 (-4) sequential stories to tell one overall story while telling you about the story structure. Some movies clearly put a lot of effort into keeping you on your toes, this movie just does it.

Not only is the gunfighting immaculate, but the combat action sequences are amazing. Betty Gilpin steals the show every time she’s on screen, and I would normally say she’s the one that carries the movie, but the movie is good enough that even though she’s over the top great, I can’t say the movie needs her to carry it.

There is an investigative aspect of the movie that is very intriguing, but that is given in the “why are they doing this to us” of it all, but unless the villains give an “evil speech”, then it should be expected.

If you enjoy human vs human survival situations, then I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this one.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle 2017 Online Subtitrat in Romana

Previous 2 parts were much better story wise, however effects are good in this part.
**The 90’s Game is back and got even more adventurous !!**

When four teenagers in detention discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji -Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever.

In the age of Hollywood’s obsession with franchise-building and reboots, the idea for a sequel to 1995’s ‘Jumanji’ came across as another eye-roll worthy project. However, the combination of charming actors Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillian and Kevin Hart, made it evident that this would wind up either being a complete trainwreck, or total mindless fun. Fortunately, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ falls solidly into the latter category. The chemistry between the lead cast is evident and the script makes the most of this by giving each actor moments to shine and showcase their skills while they clearly enjoy playing their characters.

Johnson’s younger persona Spencer is a nerdy guy who has lived a sheltered life and is afraid of the world. When he enters the game he takes on the avatar of a hunk with no discernible physical weakness. Johnson has fun with this switch of persona and watching him go back and forth doesn’t get old. The same goes for Jack Black who plays a self-absorbed, social media addicted teenage girl Bethany. Her switch into Black’s trademark rotund shape is the most extreme and ends up being hilarious. While Black and Johnson are engaging as they are completely cast against their typical selves, Gillian and Hart aren’t too far behind playing an awkward, insecure but intelligent girl, and an all-star jock boy trapped in a less-than-stellar body respectively.

This entire body-switch premise works on slapstick humour that’s not crass and moves quickly with ample action to ensure that the 2-hour runtime doesn’t feel bulky at any point. Granted there’s a villain problem with Bobby Cannavale’s Van Pelt being as one-dimensional as they come. It’s conveniently explained away as this is all a video game, and the same rules apply for its lack of depth.

_Overall_, ‘Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle’ ends up being a fun, holiday film that will keep you entertained enough to make it worth your time and money.
The effects have improved (as you’d hope they would over the course of 22 years), but _Welcome to the Jungle_ didn’t really do much for me. It completely lacks the charm of the original movie, but also the worldly scope of the animated series. I sat there patiently as weak joke after weak joke bounced off of me ineffectually, but the person I watched it with seemed to be having a great time, so maybe I’m just dead inside?

_Final rating:★★ – Definitely not for me, but I sort of get the appeal._
Eh. This was so-so. I like the rock so ill give this a 6 out of 10. The original was WAYYYYY better.
***Entertaining adventure/fantasy with a little welcome depth***

Four high school teens in Atlanta – a nerd (Alex Wolff), a muscular football player (Ser’Darius Blain), a shallow “hot blonde” (Madison Iseman) and a brainy, demure redhead (Morgan Turner) – get sucked into a video game and find themselves as avatars – a brawny explorer (Dwayne Johnson), his diminutive zoological sidekick (Kevin Hart), a cartologist / palaeontologist (Jack Black) and a martial arts babe (Karen Gillan). Can they get back alive?

“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017) is the third film in the current four-film franchise if you include “Zathura: A Space Adventure” (2005). It was a surprise hit at the box office and produced an immediate sequel in 2019.

While I give the edge to the original 1995 movie, this one delivers the goods for an entertaining family-friendly adventure/fantasy with a good message. The nonsense in the jungle is amusing & thrilling without overstaying its welcome. What really makes the film work is that it effectively establishes the four characters and their situations in the first act and wraps up with showing how they’ve grown as a result of their otherworldly adventure.

Dwayne Johnson is always great for the lead in these kinds of flicks and Hart & Black offer comical support. Karen Gillan is cute and athletic, but needs to gain some weight IMHO. Meanwhile Madison Iseman (Bethany) has alluring eyes, but Morgan Turner (Martha) actually outshines her. The exceptional title song plays during the credits.

The movie runs 1 hour, 59 minutes, and was shot in Atlanta, Georgia (neighborhood scenes) and Hawaii with loads of CGI backdrops.

GRADE: B
Fun and cool movie, probably better than the original.

John Wick: Chapter 2

~NO SPOILERS~

This movie essentially starts right after the first one ends, right at the top-down view of New York City. Dark humor abounds,
bullets rip through head and bodies, and Wick is unstoppable.

This film should be held as the gold standard for action movies. There is very little camera shake during fights and Reeves clearly has spent a lot of time preparing for this role. You can see nearly every take-down, every gunshot, and Wick has to reload at inconvenient times in a realistic fashion which also adds to the hilarity of the following kills.

Overall the acting performances were solid. Reeves isn’t known for having an extremely wide range, but his devotion to making this movie a kick-ass martial arts production is second to none. I felt the villain was a bit on the weak side though, but he did his role justice. Ian McShane’s character remains the strongest especially combined with the last film.

The lighting is superb! There’s a red-blue theme that is in nearly every nightclub and darkly lit areas and its absolutely lovely to look at. Overall cinematography is very good.

Definitely worth seeing!
Grows the world. Grows the legend. But the story itself and the man himself remain firmly retreading the steps they took in the first outing. Not too harsh a criticism though, ’cause that one was damn good too.

_Final rating:★★★½ – I strongly recommend you make the time._
I was really hoping I would like this movie. I so enjoyed the first one. However, when the credits started to roll at the end I found myself wondering “What the fuck happened?”.

Be warned that the rest of this review might contain a spoiler or two.

One thing I really liked about the first movie was, as you can read in my review about that one, that it was a no bullshit, kill the bad guys and no emotional regrets, kind of movie. John Wick went all out for revenge and at the same time we got introduced into this cool world of assassins, safe havens, hidden “shops” for guns, classy tailors providing bullet proof costumes etc. etc.

In this movie he is forced onto a job by a real asshole. He is constantly reluctant and walks around with a sad puppy face all the time. Of course said asshole screws him halfway through the movie and that would have been a good time to start get back on track with some decent payback story but unfortunately the script writers thought otherwise. After some more of the same shit no one really wins in the end (although one of the two adversaries suffer a more “permanent” setback than the other).

Worse is that, in my opinion, in their eager to put together some crap drama this movie essentially screwed up the possibilities for a John Wick 3 unless they pull some rather big surprise rabbit out of the hat for that one.

There are plenty of action in the movie of course but also her I feel that it was a bit too over the top. No one, absolutely no one, seems to be able to shoot straight except for John Wick. This makes the action feel more like a parody a’la Kill Bill than a more serious action, revenge movie. Yes it is cool to watch but only up to a point. Heck, if this would have been a Star Trek (TOS) episode Hollywood’s entire supply of red shirts would have been used up on a single movie. While I am bitching I should perhaps also mention that the amount of beating that John Wick seems to be able to absorb is … unbelievable.

I did enjoy the movie but not at all as much as I hoped I would. To me it has a completely different spirit than what I remember from the first one and the ending is, again to me at least, not a happy one.

Having said that the action sequences are as cool, crazy but cool, and violent as they are unbelievable. I found it a bit sad that they wrecked his nice car though.

Overall a enjoyable movie but no match for the first chapter and I cannot bring myself to give it more than 3 out of 5 stars.
**All eyes on him and all guns pointed at him.**

It was not an attracting title for a sequel. The first film was good, completely an unexpected, but I was expecting this one, even though not as much as I was excited to see ‘Jack Reacher 2’. That film was good, but did not meet with its first film’s merit. And this sequel, really amazing. One of best follow-up flick and better than the original. That feat considered very rare in cinema and here is the one.

Entirely different than the first. I meant the storyline. A new action, a new adventure, and even on a bigger scale. Though the initial parts were average. I totally disliked that killing assignment Mr. Wick took in his hand, but what followed after made the film great, definitely not to be missed for that alone. Especially if you are an ardent action film fan. For me, that reminded me ‘Kill Bill’, but they are not the same kind, except the fighting concept with hundreds.

Continued from a couple of days later where the previous narration had ended. Now the retired assassin, John Wick forced to take a final job, but soon he finds he was backstabbed. Every eye on the town on him and every gun pointing at him, there’s no way he could get out of it easily. So, he has to fight them all, just in order to survive. Then what comes later are even more aggressive screenplay that’s ends with left open the door for the third film.

Now this became a stylish franchise. That’s what happens when a stuntman takes up the directional job for an action flick. He did not write it, but he knew exactly how to create them, technically perfectly. Besides, he got wonderful, dedicated actors to achieve that. Not just Reeves, but all were awesome. Believe the third film would be a kick-ass, particularly the pace that could match with likes ‘Crank’. Just watch it already and be prepared for the next, the mega finale.

_8/10_
Picking almost right where the previous film ended, “John Wick Chapter 2” deals with the consequences of Wick’s return to the assassin life and how he got out to begin with.

As expected, it expands on the mythology hinted at in the first movie, with the revelation that there’s a high council of sorts, other Continental hotels around the world, and a very widespread network of assassins.

Also as expected, it ups the ante with bigger action sequences, and a much higher body count. We get to know more about some rival assassins played quite brilliantly by Common and Ruby Rose (whose character communicates solely through sign language; in many cases, this kind of thing is used as a gimmick to make the audience remember a character when they have nothing else to distinguish them, but it’s not the case here and is used only as an aspect of the character; smartly done). Keanu Reeves…let’s the Reeves of old come through a couple times, with a couple of bizarre and inappropriate inflections. Ian McShane’s Winston expands a little bit, although he still refers to John as Jonathan, which is just wrong. If it’s supposed to be some kind of an in-joke with them, they don’t reveal anything about it. Again, I think there’s more going on with Lance Reddick’s hotel manager than they’re letting on. And I was a little disappointed that Peter Stormare wasn’t in more of the film, as he’s always fun.

Again, the world is very wide, and almost seems like everyone is involved with this underworld. There is an indication that that’s not the case here and there, but we never get to meet anyone who doesn’t know what’s going on, which keeps some of that suspicion up.

The plot follows a pretty basic structure. Actually, it follows a pretty rigid structure. In a two hour movie, it can be broken down almost exactly into half-hour sequences, something that struck me as a little odd. There are some minor plot twist. Nothing major or out of the blue, but at least there was an attempt.

So now we come down to it. Is it better or worse than the first movie? Well, I would have to say “yes”. It definitely ups the ante and is a much bigger film than the first movie, expanding on the mythology and the characters. At the same time, it falls into the trap that a lot of these bigger, badder sequels fall into, which is that with the bigger scope, it feels like they have to use a bigger yoke on everything in order to keep in reined in and from going off the rails on its own. In fact, they may have expanded the world too quickly, going from a city in the first movie to the entire globe in the second. That rapid expansion makes that bigger yoke much more percpetible and, while the ambition is admirable, at times I wondered if they may have bitten off more than they could chew.

Still an enjoyable action film, and if you liked the first film, you’ll most likely enjoy this one.
